The annual Wilmington Grand Prix is almost here! Community groups and organizations can still help raise awareness of hunger in Delaware by marching in the fourth annual Parade to Fight Hunger on Saturday, May 18 in Wilmington.
The parade, sponsored by Walgreens, serves as the official opening to the Wilmington Grand Prix, a professional bike race and family street fair in downtown.
Staging for the 1:00 p.m. parade begins at 12:00 noon at 5th and Market Streets. The parade route ends at Rodney Square, where there will be six blocks of family fun and activities. The Food Bank of Delaware and parade organizers would like to invite community groups to be a part of this year’s festivities.
Last year more than 1,000 participants marched in the parade. The Food Bank encourages all types of organizations to participate this year:
- Community groups
- Faith-based groups
- Marching bands
- Bike riders
- Sports teams
- And many others
To sign up to participate in this year’s parade, please contact Parade Organizer, Chris Bell, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (302) 893-5636. For more information about events taking place as part of Grand Prix weekend, please visit www.wilmgrandprix.com.
