Chesapeake Utilities partners with Food Bank on holiday food distribution

Chesapeake UtilitiesVolunteers from Chesapeake Utilities Corporation have spent the past two days packing 600 meal boxes full of holiday food at our Milford Branch as part of its Chesapeake Cares holiday program! Volunteers from the company will distribute the boxes at two Chesapeake Utilities-sponsored holiday food distributions on December 17 and 18 in Dover and Georgetown.

“This is something that we as a company and our employees want to do to help our communities that are in need,” commented Michael P. McMasters, President & CEO of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation. “We live and work in these communities, and our commitment to them extends beyond simply meeting the energy needs of businesses and residents.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Chesapeake Utilities Corporation to support the Chesapeake Cares holiday program,” said our Milford Branch Director Chad Robinson. “Chesapeake shares our goals and aspirations to make the holidays a happy and memorable time for those in our community, and we are confident that our partnership will make a tremendous difference for families this holiday season. It is great to have a local company proactively seek us out and have its employees actively engage with community members. We could not spread the holiday cheer this season to people in need without their help.”

In addition to the holiday food distribution, Chesapeake Utilities is also making funding available to ensure that the elderly, ill and those facing financial hardship are not forgotten during the cold winter months when energy bills are at their peak. Grants are available to income-eligible customers of Chesapeake Utilities and Sharp Energy with additional amounts available for those over the age of 60. Also, the SHARING program has additional grants for appliance purchases or repair; the recently unemployed; and customers who are in need due to serious illness or family tragedy. Thank you so much to Chesapeake Utilities for their commitment to a hunger-free community! We are looking forward to next week’s holiday distributions!
