Volunteers drive our organization! We could not feed one in four Delawareans without their commitment. Marquosa Haley is a regular volunteer at our Newark warehouse! He helps out several times a week and serves as a leader for other volunteers.
Marquosa is well versed in all areas of our operation; he can assist in the volunteer room, warehouse and even help organize our refrigerated units. You may see Marquosa sorting food, making emergency meal boxes, packing meals in coolers for our After-School Nutrition Program or even helping to mop or sweep the warehouse. He is willing to do whatever is needed!
He enjoys his time at the warehouse because, “I see the smiles and that’s what keeps me volunteering.” It’s rewarding for Marquosa to volunteer at the Food Bank of Delaware, because he immediately sees the benefit of what the Food Bank of Delaware does in the community.
Two of Marquosa’s favorite programs to work with are our After-School Nutrition Program and Backpack Program. “Children are the framework of our developing society,” he says.
Marquosa has a great rapport with both volunteers and our staff. He is impressed with the operations and gives “kudos to Trevor and Wes (our Volunteer Coordinators – pictured above with Marquosa)!”
Thank you, Marquosa, for all that you do! We are so appreciative!
