Walmart Donates Brand-New Truck

We’re so thankful for the support of our community! We recently received a beautiful new truck from our friends at Walmart! The new 24′ refrigerated truck will be used to expand our retail store donation program! Our driver, Bryan, loves driving the truck up and down the state to secure nutritious donated foods for the families we serve! The new truck is valued at $90,000. In addition to the new truck, Walmart has also donated $75,000 to the Backpack Program. The funding will allow us to provide 378 children with weekend and holiday food for an entire school year.

“Walmart continues to step up in our fight against hunger,” said our President and CEO, Patricia Beebe. “We are so fortunate to have a partner that is committed to making sure Delawareans of all ages have access to nutritious foods. Thanks to Walmart’s support we will be able to address the critical need for getting weekend and holiday food to children and also increase our access to donated products.”

The folks at Walmart are truly committed to our vision of a community free of hunger! Next time you see our new Walmart truck on the road, be sure to wave (or beep!) hello to Bryan!
