We are proud to announce that we have achieved a coveted four-star rating for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency from Charity Navigator, America’s premier charity evaluator. This is our second year in a row attaining this level!
So what does it all mean?!
Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that the “organization adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way.” Only 14 percent of Charity Navigator’s rated nonprofits have received at least two consecutive four-star ratings. According to Charity Navigator, “the Food Bank of Delaware outperforms most other charities in America. This “exceptional” designation from Charity Navigator differentiates the Food Bank of Delaware from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”
“We work really hard to make sure we maximize our community’s resources in order to feed as many Delawareans as possible,” said our President and CEO, Patricia Beebe. “I am proud of our staff’s commitment to making sure we always operate with the most integrity.”
