Summer Bash is just a few days away!

Where can you enjoy an intimate live acoustic concert from country star, Aaron Tippin, a gourmet barbeque buffet prepared by students from The Culinary School and beer straight from the Dogfish Head Brewery … all while helping to raise money for hungry Delawareans?

Don’t miss out on the 8th Annual Summer Bash this Saturday (June 11) in Milton. This year’s event is chaired by Governor Jack Markell. The outdoor party starts at 12 noon at 313 Walnut Street. Tickets are only $35 plus a donation of canned goods and children under 16 are free! In addition to the regular festivities, the Bash will also recognize the passage of Delaware’s new civil liberties union law.

“We welcome Aaron Tippin to Delaware,” said Governor Jack Markell and the event’s Honorary Chair. “His music often focuses on our human struggles which ties directly into the mission of this Food Bank of Delaware fundraiser. Beyond the music and the good cause, this is chance to talk to neighbors, share good conversation, good food and hopefully, good weather.”

“I always enjoy performing at concerts, but when a concert also does good work like this one, how can that be beat? I’ve heard good things about the Annual Summer Bash and I’m looking forward to spending June 11 in Milton, Delaware,” said Tippin.

“We’re looking forward to another fun Saturday in Milton,” said Food Bank of Delaware President and CEO, Patricia Beebe. “Summer Bash is always a great time to meet new friends, create awareness of hunger in Delaware and most importantly raise much-needed food and funds for struggling Delawareans.”

Tippin has released 35 singles, of which 33 have charted on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs. Three have become number one hits, including “There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong with the Radio,” “That’s as Close as I’ll Get to Loving You” and “Kiss This.” Four singles have crossed over to the Billboard Hot 100. Of Tippin’s studio albums, his 1992 Read Between the Lines album was certified platinum. Five other studio albums were certified gold.
