We’re Taking a Step Back in Time!

Yes, we know it’s only June, but we’re already preparing for our fifth annual Blue Jean Ball scheduled for Saturday, October 2 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.! This year’s theme is Peace. Love. End Hunger. and we’re planning to transform our warehouse into a space reminiscent of the psychedelic days! Get ready for a warehouse full of tie-dye, peace signs, happy faces, flowers and more!

The evening will feature fine food from our culinary team, wine and beer, live party music from Strangers and a silent auction. Last year more than 230 attendees danced the night away and helped raise money to address the critical issue of hunger in Delaware.

The event takes place in our warehouse allowing us to showcase to our supporters exactly what it takes to feed hungry Delawareans – a 36,000-square-foot warehouse, multiple refrigeration units, fork lifts and racks upon racks of stored dry food goods.

In addition, by hosting our event in the warehouse we are able to significantly able to cut costs. If we were to rent an event facility, less money would go back to our mission of feeding hungry Delawareans. Last year 80 percent of proceeds went directly back to our hunger-relief programs. These programs include children’s feeding programs, mobile pantries, fresh produce distribution, The Culinary School at the Food Bank of Delaware and more.

The success of our event is dependent on the generosity of sponsors. If you’re interested in sponsorship opportunities or donating to our silent auction, please contact Kim Kostes at (302) 444-8074 or kkostes@fbd.org. To purchase tickets or tables, please click here.
